Yesterday, my earthly father would have celebrated his 88th birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad!  I was at work the other day, not a very good day goin' on, and God stepped in to to make it so cool! I had ordered a ceiling fan for a lady, then found out I could not get it anywhere. I get bummed when I let someone down. I walked away from my desk, and when I came back, it was there! I knew God delivered, but not ceiling fans! A couple stopped me, Brent and Merry Jo, needing help in another part of the store. I found out that they were the ones who had returned the fan, and I told them that they had blessed this lady so very much.  We talked for a long time, then prayed together, as they feel called to do coffee house ministry. Please keep us in prayer, we may do ministry together in Eaton, Ohio!

We also have a couple who is going to take over youth ministry at our Church. Please keep Joe and Kala in your prayers!

As bad as I have been updating this, I thought I should add what year the update was LOL.  Along with two of my Priesthood brothers, we just returned from Nashville, TN spending a couple of days hitting the prisons of Davidson County as part of "Weekend of Champions", Bill Glass' prison ministry, which is 35 years strong.  It is very different from Kairos, the main prison ministry that I do.  With Kairos, 42 inmates are selected for a three day Intense spiritual retreat.  With Bill Glass, we go right into the pods and speak to them where they live. If you get a chance, try them both, they are such a blessing.

We were out on the yard at a youth facility Friday, and it was hot!!!! Today in Church, we were singing "How great thou art," and part of one line was "feel the gentle breeze."  That is EXACTLY what happened Friday.  God kept a gentle breeze blowing to keep us comfortable!  We took our bikes in, and the kids loved them.  Saturday we went to a different facility and were inside.  They asked us to bring them in there also.  Bart has a sidecar, so we knew he couldn't.  Ron's fit, but mine got stuck in the second door we tried to go through.  Even taking off the saddle bags and all it would not fit.

Please pray for those who do prison ministry, the need is great. Better yet, get out of your comfort zone and try it yourselves.  There is a link to both Kairos and Bill Glass on the links page

Be Blessed

The Ministry is great, the workers are few.  I apologize that one of the things on the back-burner was updating the website. I have been 'Focusing' my time lately on two very important ministries; home and doing prison ministry. You have seen on here many times that if you are not blessed at home, it is difficult to be a blessing elsewhere.  I will come in after work tonight and expand on the prisons that I am going to be ministering in.

I have found another brother who wants to cross the man made lines called denominations and partner in ministry.  We are going to begin to do music at Rock Solid Ministries coffee house beginning with Bill Brooks June 16. The Coffee house has it's own set of '10 commandments', which I will share with you.

  1. Thou shalt not smoke, chew or spit
  2. Thou shalt not carry any weapons
  3. Thou shalt not fight
  4. Thou shalt not carry in any alcohol
  5. Thou shalt not steal
  6. Thou shalt not deface property
  7. Thou shalt be quiet during prayer
  8. Thou shalt not drool on members of the opposite sex
  9. Thou shalt not display gang symbols, signs, or colors
  10. Thou shalt respect staff at all times

Failure to comply may result in a request to leave the premises.  Solid Rock cafe reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

We were talking at work the other day on how easy it is to say that you are a Christian, but when it comes right down to it, showing that you are a Christian in the world that we live in is much harder.  I work in retail, and when I tell people to have a blessed day, they look at me as if they had been shot.  Nobody really says that in public, do they?  Some of us do.  "No one who denies the Son has the father; whoever acknowledges  the Son has the father also" 1 John2:23(NIV).  I live my life as if Jesus was sitting in the chair beside me at all times.  I even pull out an extra chair for Jesus when I council youth.  "Keep your Focus on Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of our faith" Heb 12:2(DAT).  Around Christmas you hear Jesus name mentioned often, and at Easter time, also.  Please do all you can to make this an every day priority in your life, as well as the life of your children!

God Bless

I remember when I was 13...and it felt like you were talking to me...and that became the hour I first believed...next thing you know...everybody has their own 13...(Matthew West These are snippets of a great song ( Next thing you know) off of Matthew West's new CD, History.  I met Matthew a few years back when he opened up for Third Day at the Porter County fair.  I bought him a Pepsi and we sat and talked for a long time.  When I heard this song, it's message touched my heart.  Kids try so hard to fit into the mold of who they should be.  This song tells you that there is no mold to fit into.  'Everybody has their own 13'-  I was 32 when I had mine.  That was when I began to have a true relationship with God.  Please do not fret if your friends are in a different place than you are. 'everybody has their own 13.'
